How Turbo Buy and Turbo Buy Plus work
Turbo Buy combines regular Bitcoin buying with 60% extra buying power. Customers choose a fixed amount and a buying frequency (daily, weekly, every two weeks or monthly), and we add another 60% to every purchase. The Bitcoin the customer buys regularly automatically serves as collateral. The customer settles the extra buying power later at the original purchase price.
Turbo Buy Plus uses the same extra buying power mechanism, but adjusts the size of each purchase to long-term market trends – investing more when Bitcoin is cheap and less when it is overheated.
A fee of 9.9% per year is charged on the value of the extra buying power, and a 1.49% service fee applies to purchases. The strategy is designed for a horizon of one to five years. Customers can settle it at any time. If the value of the collateral falls too far, the strategy is settled automatically (liquidation).
Purchases are spread over time, so customers don’t need to time their entry into the market, and their purchase price is averaged out. Customers choose their own regular amount, starting from as little as €30 a month.
“Timing the exact moment to buy is practically impossible, and most investors get it wrong. That’s why Turbo Buy combines regular purchases, known as dollar-cost averaging, with extra buying power. We launched it at the all-time high, and most of our customers are still in profit.” – Michal Nýdrle, Partner, Invity
Zero liquidations
Turbo Buy is designed for long-term regular buying, not short-term trading. We tested the liquidation risk twice, and the result so far is the same: zero liquidations.
- Simulation: Štěpán Uherík, our co-founder and CFO of the SatoshiLabs group, simulated 10 years of Bitcoin history across 4,084 scenarios. None of them resulted in a liquidation.
- Live operation: since the beta launch, there has not been a single liquidation – not even during a 51% drop in the price of Bitcoin (from the all-time high to the lowest point). To date, not a single Turbo strategy has been liquidated due to a price drop.
The same pattern in other markets
We see similar behaviour in our other key markets – Spain, Germany, Poland and Italy. Customers there aren’t looking for a one-off bet; they buy Bitcoin regularly in small amounts.
Why now
Inflation in Europe is starting to rise again, and money in current accounts is losing purchasing power. People are looking for other ways to set money aside for the long term, and are finding that they don’t need a large amount of capital or perfect timing. A regular amount from €30 a month is enough.
